When I was a kid, I used to stay in front of the television from the moment I wake up until the station starts to air drama series. I only watch cartoons and mangas because then, I believe that I was born with supernatural powers.
I am not sure if you are familiar with the Sailor Moon manga, but when I was about five years old, my hair is cropped really short, which makes me Sailor Mercury (Ami) by default when we play pretend games. Sailor Mercury's powers are associated with phases of water and to justify my role, I'd often bring out the garden hose and sprinkle water to my playmates.
As you grow up, though, your interests will also change. I no longer play dolls and I've stopped watching cartoons. I had developed an extreme liking in watching detective and crime movies. CSI, NCIS, 24 altogether replaced Sailor Moon, Fushigi Yuugi and My Little Pony.
But guess what? I just realized cartoons and mangas aren't just for kids. Adults are sometimes addicted to these, too. I recently attended a Cosplay event in which the participants don costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea, and most of the times, those characters are cartoon and manga ones. Some depicted Darth Vader and wore heavy costumes, some wore cute Lolita costumes and some even tagged their nannies along to carry their suitcases! Imagine how much time they have invested to prepare for such event!
Anyway, I was there for a shoot and my camera certainly had its own share of exposure. I was able to take about 200 pictures, though some of them went straight to the recycle bin. Haha!

Christmas is coming fast and as usual, I'm totally broke. I have a few things that I wanted to buy but my depleting savings account couldn't afford it, haha! What I did was I wrote a letter to Santa and hopefully he'd receive it. By the way, Santa no longer accepts snail mail, good thing about technology though, Santa's already got an email!
Dear Santa,
The past few months of the year has been really tough for me. Last year, I got myself a new computer but it crashed down for so many times this year that I am longing for a new one. I use the computer for a lot of stuff and I share it with my sibs even if it's not Christmas because I know that sharing is as good as giving. I don't watch porn too, so partly I'm a good kid. Please grant my wish...
Last year, too, I broke my guitar and I miss it terribly. At times I'd pretend that my left arm is my guitar and I'd strum it with my fingers. My brother often tells me I look crazy and stupid whenever he catches me doing such thing but he doesn't really understand when one of things where you get your inspiration from is taken away from you. Then, on August, Les Paul died and my heart broke once more. You see, I have been saving all my change in a small piggy bank because I want to customize my own guitar and I'll have him sign it. But how can I do it now?
Lastly, I want to upgrade my camera to further enrich my passion for photography. I find joy in capturing moments from my lens and my d60 has it's limitations, too. I wouldn't go for something really, really expensive because I'm afraid that you might get broke and other people won't get their share of gifts. I wouldn't want that to happen of course.
By the way, my brother told me that he's going to write you a letter soon. Please don't believe him when he says he's been a good kid, he always wear my dresses when I'm not around. :D

Ever been inside a small, cramped bar where the performing artist keeps on banging his head, sweat dripping on his shoulders and forehead and he seems as if he'd attack the person nearest him?
I could have joined my sibs in watching a movie on a Saturday night, but I went out instead. I signed up for a shoot with Pentavia, a local band in the Phils. Their song is what they call 'Ninja Metal', though for me they sounded more like Mudvayne and Slipknot. The vocalist was very perked up during the night and I almost got hit with a microphone stand when he started banging on the stage. I didn't even notice it because I was too focused on his moves with my eye behind the viewfinder, it was when my co-photographer told me that I should 'be careful with my head' and this he meant quite literally.
That was the first time that I went to Freedom Bar, and for sure it wouldn't be the last. Though my beloved camera was put at risk at multiple times, I was washed clean with beer when the vocalist showered the audience with a bottle of booze, and the place was a literal 60 sq.m. ashtray, I'd certainly go back there and shoot more.
The night turned out to be fun and I ended my day by eating Pork and Tofu Adobo at Rufo's.
I just hope I'd already found my niche in photography. I'll probably frequent bars soon and quit clubs.

It was yesterday, 11-28-09, when I decided to start my blog site. I work in graveyard shift and I'm an insomniac, too. There were times when all I do is look at myself in the mirror, listen to music from my Ipod or surf the net when I find it difficult to sleep. But sometimes, they too, bore me and I'd end up counting sheep. Still, my nerves would be awake to drain my energy.
So, I decided to blog! Nice, huh? Well, I learned it from a friend who has his own site now. Blogging is pretty cool, anyway. You get to know a lot of people and a lot of people will know you too. Slick, eh? So, here it is. My first attempt in writing. My blog site isn't as handsome as the other ones that you might have visited but feel free to leave some comments and suggestions so I can make improvements. Enjoy your stay!
